TL;DR

Software Engineer (AI): Building and optimizing high-scale distributed training systems for machine learning models, including Large Language Models, within the online advertising platform with an accent on selection, relevance, and user response prediction. Focus on designing and deploying robust, scalable solutions that directly impact business goals and hundreds of millions of users.

Location: Expected to work from the Microsoft office in Suzhou, China at least four days per week, requiring a commute within 25 miles of the office.

What you will do

• Design and implement distributed training systems for machine learning models with trillions of parameters.
• Develop and deploy streaming training and publishing solutions for large-scale machine learning models.
• Analyze metrics from offline and online testing to identify opportunities and deliver robust, scalable solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality, efficient delivery of solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years of technical engineering experience with coding OR equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
• Quick learning and solid problem-solving and debugging skills.
• English: Fluent in both oral and written communication.

Nice to have

• Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 3+ years of technical engineering experience, OR Bachelor’s Degree AND 5+ years.
• Experience with machine learning, LLM, or TensorFlow/PyTorch distributed training.
• Domain knowledge of ads, search, or content services.
