What you will do

• Execute a defined engineering/research project aligned with your PhD research.
• Implement prototypes addressing infrastructure or AI-systems challenges.
• Build and run benchmarks to measure performance, reliability, or security improvements.
• Document design, architecture, tradeoffs, and evaluation results.
• Deliver a working prototype, reproducible results, technical write-up, and internal presentation.
• Collaborate with mentors to refine approaches and prepare findings for adoption or publication.

Requirements

• PhD candidate in Computer Science or related field graduating between Winter 2026 and Spring 2028.
• Proven experience in systems/infrastructure and/or AI/ML through research publications or projects.
• Strong coding skills in Python, Rust, Go, or C++ with ability to prototype quickly.
• Curiosity and drive to explore novel systems methodologies and apply them practically.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills in interdisciplinary teams.

Nice to have

• Prior systems publications, open-source contributions, or experience with large-scale infrastructure.
• Interest in translating research insights into product impact.
• Comfortable with ambiguous or evolving project goals and rapid experimentation.
