What you will do
- Create frameworks, policies, and tools to prevent fraud, regulatory breaches, and financial crime while ensuring seamless customer experience.
- Manage transaction monitoring queues and advise teams on blocking potential bad actors.
- Plan and execute fraud and risk mitigation projects with cross-functional teams.
- Respond to suspected fraud events and lead risk tolerance designation for products.
- Develop educational materials and standard operating procedures for fraud prevention.
- Collaborate with data and finance teams to report on fraud exposure and manage budgets.
Requirements
- Location: Must be based in Toronto, Vancouver, or Calgary for hybrid work
- 4-5 years of Payments/Fintech fraud and risk prevention experience with knowledge of card networks, ACH, wires, and emerging payment technologies.
- Strong data analysis, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience working cross-functionally and with global markets outside North America is a plus.
- Ability to design risk processes with customer empathy in a high-growth environment.
Nice to have
- Experience at fraud prevention vendors or vertical SaaS platforms.
- Compliance and risk management experience in fintech, neobanks, or card networks.
- Technical knowledge of AI fraud prevention solutions.
