Location: Hybrid in Cyprus (2 days a week from home)

What you will do

• Design and build core backend systems that support a rapidly growing organisation.
• Own technical solutions end-to-end – from proposing designs to implementation and rollout.
• Raise the bar on engineering standards, ensuring best practices are followed.
• Coach and mentor your team, sharing knowledge and providing strong technical direction.
• Work closely with project managers and stakeholders to shape requirements, timelines, and deliverables.
• Act as an effective point of contact for the R&D Manager, architects, and DevOps.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven experience as a Backend Engineer / Tech Lead in a Microsoft-based environment.
• Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft tech stack: C# / .NET Core, MS SQL Server, REST, and Visual Studio.
• Strong background in software architecture and implementation-level design.
• Hands-on experience with clean code practices, design patterns, and SOLID principles.
• Ability to diagnose and solve performance issues in complex distributed systems.
• Clear and confident verbal and written English communication, enabling smooth collaboration.

Nice to have

• Experience in fraud detection and risk management.
• Experience building iGaming products and/or features.
• Experience with real-time or near-real-time, event-driven systems.
