Location: Hybrid role with the expectation of working at least 3 days a week from one of our office hubs in San Francisco or Toronto.

What you will do
- Partner with product, analytics, and operations teams to translate data needs into scalable models and pipelines.
- Build and maintain a robust data platform, with well-documented ELT/ETL pipelines using dbt, Airflow/Dagster, and BigQuery/Snowflake.
- Own the design and implementation of data pipelines that support product development & instrumentation, BI reporting, and data experimentation.
- Improve data quality and reliability by establishing and maintaining testing, monitoring, and observability best practices.
- Help drive our data architecture forward with a focus on usability, performance, strong data governance, and scalability.
- Mentor other engineers and analysts on data & software best practices, modeling standards, and tooling.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or Software Engineer, ideally in product-focused, fast-paced environments.
- Strong proficiency in Python for data wrangling and orchestration logic, and comfortable navigating Python application codebases.
- Strong proficiency in SQL for data transformation, utilizing transformations tools such as dbt to create reusable data models.
- Strong experience with designing dimensional models and defining clear source-of-truth metrics.
- Expertise in creating compelling reporting and data visualization solutions using dashboarding tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Metabase).
- A self-starter, comfortable working in fast-paced and evolving environments with a bias toward action.
- Excellent communication skills and experience collaborating closely with product managers and business stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and trust across functions and work collaboratively.
- Strong attention to detail, structured thinking, and experience developing processes to reduce human error.
- Work at least 3 days a week from office hubs in San Francisco or Toronto.
