What you will do

• Lead and grow a Forward Deployed Engineering team delivering production AI systems
• Own end-to-end delivery outcomes with clarity, speed, and technical quality
• Create tools, playbooks, and roadmap inputs to leverage field learnings
• Identify and escalate early indicators from product or customer environments
• Provide direct, actionable feedback to support team growth and performance
• Define staffing and support models for scalable field teams

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in or willing to relocate to Tokyo, Japan
• Fluent bilingual proficiency in Japanese and English (spoken and written)
• 8+ years engineering or technical delivery experience, including 2+ years managing FDE or customer-facing engineers
• Experience leading technical projects from prototype to production
• Proficient in writing and reviewing production-grade code in JavaScript and Python
• Ability to make fast, sound decisions under pressure and operate in ambiguous environments

Nice to have

• Experience working closely with Product, Research, Sales, and Go-To-Market teams
• Strong judgment and ability to translate field experience into product and research insights
