What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering team focused on backend systems.
• Set the technical vision and roadmap for scalable backend services, APIs, and data-driven systems.
• Collaborate with AI, data, and product teams to develop intelligent capabilities.
• Ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of critical customer growth systems.
• Drive best practices in system design, code reviews, and architectural decision-making.
• Own the delivery of key product initiatives, balancing long-term platform investments with business objectives.

Requirements

• Seven or more years of professional backend software engineering experience, including at least two years managing or leading engineers.
• Strong proficiency in Java or Typescript.
• Experience designing and operating distributed systems, APIs, and microservice architectures at scale, utilizing AWS, Docker, or Kubernetes.
• Deep understanding of databases, messaging systems, or streaming technologies such as PostgreSQL, Redis, or Kafka.
• Demonstrated ability to coach and develop engineers and foster a collaborative environment.
• Candidates must be US-based.
