Data Engineer Intern

Location: Foster City, California, USA with hybrid work format

Salary: $5,500–$9,500 per month

What you will do

• Build and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes for autonomous vehicle logs and company analytics.
• Develop data platforms for metrics computation using tools like Databricks, Spark, and Ray.
• Create visualization dashboards with Looker, Grafana, and Databricks.
• Support data scientists and engineers by enabling efficient access to large-scale autonomous driving data.
• Design and build data models for key business domains such as autonomy, riders, fleet, and simulation.

Requirements

• Must be currently enrolled in a relevant engineering degree program and returning to school after internship.
• Ability to relocate to the Bay Area, California for the internship duration.
• Good academic standing and at least one previous relevant internship or project experience.
• Commitment to a 12-week internship starting May or June 2026.
• Interns must not use proprietary information for external academic work.

Nice to have

• Experience with big data technologies such as Spark, Databricks, and Airflow.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with streaming data processing and large-scale streaming platforms like Kafka or Kinesis.
• Understanding of ML infrastructure, feature stores, and data quality monitoring tools.
• Experience with autonomous vehicle or sensor data processing.
