Intermediate Full Stack Engineer

TL;DR

Intermediate Full Stack Engineer: Delivering new features and high-leverage coding projects on a modern stack (Angular, React, Go) deployed using Docker to AWS with an accent on building REST API endpoints and understanding concepts like authentication and web security. Focus on structuring projects into actionable tasks and collaborating with engineers, product managers, and designers.

Location: Work remotely from anywhere in the world for up to 60 days per year. Newly renovated office space located in Newmarket (Auckland)

What you will do

• Code, deliver new features, conduct code reviews, fix bugs, engage in peer programming, and respond to incidents.
• Own and be accountable for features and high-leverage coding projects.
• Structure projects into small, actionable tasks to deliver the most value quickly.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers to plan upcoming work.
• Share knowledge through chapter reviews, demos, and mentoring fellow engineers.
• Work on common services, shared libraries, upgrade/introduce new tooling or libraries, documentation, and evolve best practices and processes.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Full Stack Engineer with successes and failures.
• Experience in working on major systems in one or more languages, ideally building REST API endpoints on top of data storage layers.
• Understanding of concepts like authentication, web security, and how frontends consume APIs.
