Streaming Infrastructure DevOps Engineer

Location: Hybrid role based in Bucharest office (2 days a week onsite)

What you will do

• Automate deployment and operation of Kafka and RabbitMQ clusters including Confluent Cloud & CFK
• Monitor and support production stability of global Kafka clusters with on-call rotations and incident management
• Build and maintain observability systems like dashboards, alerting pipelines, and metrics collection
• Optimize system performance through benchmarking and tuning Kafka brokers and cluster configurations
• Provide developer support and training focused on infrastructure topics
• Develop and maintain infrastructure tools and scripts (IaC, Helm charts)
• Secure infrastructure access with authentication and role-based access controls

Requirements

• 8+ years experience in DevOps, SRE, or Infrastructure Engineering
• Deep hands-on Kafka experience
• Experience with RabbitMQ
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, GitOps-style deployments
• Infrastructure as Code experience (Terraform, Pulumi)
• Strong scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash)
• Familiarity with Confluent Cloud and Confluent for Kubernetes
• Understanding of authentication and authorization in distributed systems
• Production support mindset with troubleshooting and incident resolution
• Collaboration and communication skills
• Experience with Istio Service Mesh and GovCloud (bonus)

Nice to have

• Mentorship and leadership experience in infrastructure or SRE teams
• Contributions to automation or monitoring open-source tooling
• Active participation in SRE or DevOps communities
• Conference speaker or internal tech trainer
• Technical writing about infrastructure automation or reliability
