Position Title: Vulnerability Assessment Specialist | Pentester | Malware dev
Department: Security / Engineering / Pentesting
Reports To: Chief Security Officer (CSO)
Location: Cyprus
Employment Type: Full-Time / Contract
Overview:
The Vulnerability Assessment Specialist | Pentester | Malware dev is a cybersecurity professional tasked with proactively identifying and exploiting vulnerabilities in systems, applications, and networks during the critical pre-launch phase. This role is essential in simulating real-world cyber-attacks to uncover potential security weaknesses, thereby ensuring robust protection prior to system deployment.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct Penetration Testing: Execute comprehensive penetration tests and vulnerability assessments during the Day Zero phase.
Simulate Cyber-Attacks: Emulate advanced cyber-attack scenarios (e.g., SQL injection, cross-site scripting) to evaluate system defenses.
Collaborate for Remediation: Work closely with development and security teams to remediate identified vulnerabilities.
Document Findings: Prepare detailed reports and documentation, including actionable recommendations for remediation.
Advise on Best Practices: Provide expert guidance on security best practices and risk mitigation strategies.
Stay Informed: Continuously monitor emerging security threats and evolving hacking techniques.
Skills & Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 3 years in ethical hacking or penetration testing.
Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using industry-standard hacking tools (e.g., Metasploit, Burp Suite, Kali Linux).
Knowledge Base: In-depth understanding of vulnerabilities (including the OWASP Top 10), web applications, and network protocols.
Programming Skills: Proficient in programming/scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for exploit development.
Certifications: Security certifications (e.g., OSCP, CEH) are preferred.
Communication: Strong ability to articulate technical findings clearly and concisely.
Education:
Preferred Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field.
