Position: Product Counsel
Company: Strikerz Inc.
Location: Paphos / Limassol / Remote
We are looking for a Product Counsel to join our rapidly growing global team and to head the Product legal department and be responsible for all legal aspects of operating the UFL (console football AAA game).
Responsibilities:
• Intellectual Property
- Advising the business on all aspects of IP, including TMs and copyrights, IP aspects of products releases.
- Supervising IP portfolio management. Resolve IP infringement issues.
- Advising the business in regard to copyright matters, including IP licenses, copyright clearance, permission to use third-party copyright works, cooperating closely with the license and partnerships department.
• Commercial Contracts
- Managing, drafting and negotiating multiple commercial agreements (license, marketing, publishing, partnerships etc.) with sports outfit brands, football clubs, ads agents, ambassadors, software service providers etc.
- Working with product teams and marketing departments on commercial deals with key contractors and strategic partners.
- Working closely with the business development team to improve the contractual workflow.
• Product Compliance
- Assist in defining content moderation policies and manage compliance with distribution platforms, partnering brands, football industry institutions and related organizations rules;
- Ensure Product Liability and Safety issues through identifying and mitigating risks;
- Reviews product features for compliance with applicable regulations on digital content/services, loot boxes, consumer protection, age ratings, online advertising and other related subjects.
• Team Management
- Building up an effective Product Legal Team with the clear potential to scale up;
- Organize and supervise effective recruiting, strong team management and deep expertise;
- Organize and manage sound legal operations structure and transparent business processes.
About you:
• You are confident with a commercial sense, pragmatic and solutions oriented;
• You are interested in and ready to actively participate in development of company’s products through optimizing, improving and simplifying cooperation between departments and teams;
• You are able to collaborate positively, respectfully and effectively with each seniority level;
• You are passionate about sharing experience with junior team members and colleagues from different expertise;
• You have a keen interest in football business, including knowledge of championships, leagues, clubs, players, seasons, transfers and the latest football and video gaming trends.
Requirements:
• Strong academic credentials, including an appropriate law degree;
• Post education experience: 7+ (preferably 9+) years of legal experience in a law firm, in-house or a mix, ideally in information technologies and interactive entertainment;
• Hands-on experience with EU regulations and English contract law;
• Strong analytical skills, ability to conduct legal research and demonstrate excellent judgment;
• Strong written and oral communication skills;
• Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage team, follow through and meet deadlines;
• Ability to work independently;
• Fluent English.
