Location: Must be based in the U.S. (Annapolis Junction, MD) with partial telework available. U.S. Citizenship is required due to ITAR and contract requirements.

Salary: $150,000 - $236,250

What you will do

• Evaluate and optimize ML models for speed, accuracy, and security on target platforms including edge devices.
• Design and integrate ML/AI algorithms into mission-critical systems to solve emerging challenges.
• Develop and maintain innovative Java and Python-based solutions using industry best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Provide leadership for corporate AI efforts, including working groups and proposal activities.
• Conduct research and experiments to identify suitable ML/AI techniques for specific use cases.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship is required for ITAR compliance and contract requirements.
• Ability to obtain or hold a Top Secret clearance.
• Strong software development skills with Java and Python.
• Experience with ML libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and computational complexity.
• Experience in the full SDLC using Agile methodology.

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of distributed computing frameworks like Apache Spark or Hadoop.
• Familiarity with data science workflows, ETL, and data lakes.
• Contributions to open-source projects or active developer community participation.
