What you will do
- Track and integrate new developments from the upstream Linux Kernel community into EOS.
- Develop and maintain kernel features and automated test infrastructure using C, C++, and Python.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to qualify new CPUs and NICs for Arista products.
- Contribute features and patches back to the mainline Linux kernel.
- Analyze, mitigate, and resolve complex networking problems reported by customers and internal test teams.
- Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers within the team.
Requirements
- Must be based in Austin, TX, USA.
- BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
- Expert knowledge of and extensive experience programming in C.
- Significant hands-on experience troubleshooting, debugging, and developing features in the Linux kernel.
- Familiarity with Linux kernel architecture and the upstream patching process.
- Understanding of IP networking architecture and principles.
- Familiarity with x86 and ARM CPU architectures.

- Knowledge of C++ and Python.
