What you will do
- Track and integrate ongoing developments from the upstream Linux Kernel community into EOS.
- Develop and maintain kernel features using C, C++, and Python.
- Collaborate with hardware vendors to qualify new components like CPUs and NICs.
- Contribute features and patches back to the mainline Linux kernel.
- Analyze and resolve complex networking and system-level problems reported by customers or internal test teams.
- Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers within the team.
Requirements
- Must be based in Austin, TX, USA
- BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
- 8+ years of relevant experience (or equivalent).
- Expert knowledge of C programming.
- Significant hands-on experience with Linux kernel architecture, troubleshooting, and feature development.
- Familiarity with x86 and ARM CPU architectures and IP networking principles.
Nice to have
- Proficiency in C++ and Python.
- Experience with the upstream Linux community patching process.
