What you will do

• Track and integrate ongoing developments from the upstream Linux Kernel community into EOS.
• Develop and maintain kernel features using C, C++, and Python.
• Collaborate with hardware vendors to qualify new components like CPUs and NICs.
• Contribute features and patches back to the mainline Linux kernel.
• Analyze and resolve complex networking and system-level problems reported by customers or internal test teams.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers within the team.

Requirements

• Must be based in Austin, TX, USA
• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
• 8+ years of relevant experience (or equivalent).
• Expert knowledge of C programming.
• Significant hands-on experience with Linux kernel architecture, troubleshooting, and feature development.
• Familiarity with x86 and ARM CPU architectures and IP networking principles.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in C++ and Python.
• Experience with the upstream Linux community patching process.
