What you will do

• Monitor North American E&P developments using industry news, press releases, investor presentations, and regulatory filings.
• Analyze upstream oil and gas activity to identify trends, operational shifts, and emerging market developments.
• Author timely research reports and client commentary on E&P trends, upstream activity, and production patterns.
• Produce maps and shapefiles to visualize acreage holdings, operational activity, and infrastructure developments.
• Collaborate with software engineers to enhance analytical tools using upstream subject-matter expertise.
• Deliver forward-looking forecasts and analysis tailored to a diverse client base.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Geology, Mineral & Energy Economics, Energy Management, or a related STEM field.
• 3–5 years of experience in the upstream oil and gas industry.
• Proven ability to write insightful, timely research and translate complex data into clear narratives under deadlines.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and GIS software; working knowledge of Python for data interrogation and analysis.
• Experience contributing to research reports, technical publications, or client-facing analytical products.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without need for employer sponsorship, now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Experience with oil and gas market fundamentals (supply/demand, pricing trends, production patterns).
