What you will do

• Design and implement automated cost monitoring, alerting, and optimization solutions across cloud platforms.
• Develop cost allocation algorithms and tagging strategies for accurate cost attribution.
• Build integrations between cloud billing APIs and internal cost management systems.
• Create dashboards, reporting, cost guardrails, and automated policies to prevent cost overruns.
• Develop scalable solutions for cost data collection, processing, and analysis; support FinOps requirements for TechOps Analytics Data Solution.
• Collaborate with product engineering, infrastructure foundations, and data analytics teams to implement cost optimization opportunities and roadmap inputs.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience focused on cloud infrastructure.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Go, or similar languages.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms and cost management tools (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.).
• Proficiency with monitoring/observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, etc.).
• Experience with containerization/orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD & DevOps practices.

Nice to have

• FinOps Certified Practitioner (or commitment to obtain within 6 months).
• Experience in cybersecurity or SaaS.
• Knowledge of commitment-based discount programs (Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, CUDs).
• Experience with ETL/data pipeline development.
• Familiarity with cost optimization tools (CloudHealth, Cloudability, etc.).
• Database optimization and performance tuning experience.
