What you will do

• Lead and coordinate Operational Risk (ORM) activities including RCSAs, control environment effectiveness validation, risk incident classification, escalation/transition, and action plan follow-up.
• Review and challenge KRIs and related risk management artefacts against defined thresholds; perform thematic reviews of process and control documentation.
• Support Business Continuity (BCM) by developing, maintaining, and testing BIAs and recovery plans, managing end-to-end testing cycles, and improving scenario libraries based on lessons learned.
• Maintain and deploy integrated operational risk and resilience policy/procedure frameworks, including BCM-ORM alignment, and monitor dashboards/trackers for integrated metrics.
• Provide governance and oversight through committee papers, periodic management reporting, and maintenance of oversight logs for control testing, incidents, and plan testing outcomes.
• Partner with first-line operations, compliance, internal audit, and external partners; deliver operational risk and resilience awareness sessions and maintain training materials.

Requirements

• Post-secondary degree in accounting, finance, law, economics, business, or a related discipline.
• 7+ years of experience in operational risk and/or business continuity/resilience management in a financial institution (or compatible experience), with demonstrated leadership.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, including advanced Microsoft Excel; strong IT skills.
• Solid understanding of broader risk frameworks and regulatory requirements for risk management, including risk controls and guidelines.
• Ability to plan and organize workload, problem-solve, manage stakeholder sensitivities, and resolve conflicts while meeting deadlines.
• Location: Halifax, NS, Canada (hybrid work indicated).
