Director, Annuity Suitability & Compliance (Fintech): Leading the launch and operation of a U.S. suitability and compliance function for a new fixed annuity program with an accent on regulatory adherence, workflow design, and team leadership. Focus on ensuring compliance with NAIC standards, managing suitability reviews, and collaborating with distribution partners to support business growth across 49 states.
Location: Must be based in the US. Position is hybrid or remote; if hybrid, must work from the Toronto Head Office three days per week. If remote, must travel to the Toronto Head Office at least once per quarter.
Salary: $121,700 – $225,900

What you will do
- Lead the design, structure, and execution of the suitability and compliance function for a new fixed/indexed annuity program.
- Manage a team responsible for making suitability decisions in accordance with NAIC regulations and internal standards.
- Ensure adherence to state and federal regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Oversee workflows to ensure timely completion of suitability reviews.
- Represent the organization in industry groups to stay current on issues impacting the fixed/indexed annuity industry.
- Resolve escalated suitability reviews through direct communication with customers and distribution partners.
Requirements
- Must be based in the US.
- 10+ years of experience in annuity and compliance, ideally in a leadership role within an insurance company.
- Deep knowledge of U.S. fixed/indexed annuity products and independent distribution channels.
- Comprehensive understanding of NAIC Suitability in Annuity Transactions Model Regulation.
- Experience with annuity new business platforms such as Firelight.
- Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of coaching and team development.
