TL;DR

Financial Compliance Senior Associate (Fintech): Leading the end-to-end SOX cycle and ensuring regulatory compliance for financial reporting with an accent on internal controls and risk assessment. Focus on identifying control gaps, performing root cause analysis, and scaling compliance practices within a high-growth environment.

Location: Hybrid; must be based in the US (Menlo Park, CA; New York, NY; Chicago, IL; or other specified zones) with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week.

Salary: Base pay ranges from $77,000 to $115,000 USD depending on the location zone.

What you will do

  • Lead risk assessments, documentation refreshes, and testing for key corporate business processes.
  • Assist in annual and quarterly SOX 404 scoping, risk assessments, and controls mapping.
  • Collaborate with process owners to evaluate control deficiencies and track remediation plans.
  • Revamp existing business controls to ensure scalability with company growth.
  • Evaluate new business processes and product launches to identify financial and operational risks.
  • Serve as the primary SOX liaison between corporate teams and external auditors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a relevant field.
  • Minimum 4 years of work experience in financial audit/attestation in a Big Four firm or a public company’s internal audit/SOX function.
  • Strong knowledge of SOX 404, the COSO Internal Control Framework, and PCAOB auditing standards.
  • Ability to independently plan and execute walkthroughs and evaluate control effectiveness.
  • Must be based in the United States and able to work from the office at least 3 days per week.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with GRC platforms such as AuditBoard or Workiva.
