Sr. Claims Examiner: Resolving moderate to high complexity and exposure claims from coverage enquiry through legal liability assessment (where relevant) and quantum analysis with an accent on coverage determination, reserve setting, and litigation/mediation strategy. Salary: $78,000 - $107,250 + 15% incentive

What you will do
- Confirm coverage by reviewing policies and claim documents; analyze coverage positions and communicate them.
- Prepare coverage position letters (without outside coverage counsel) and refer suspicious losses to SIU while assisting investigations and settlements.
- Conduct, coordinate, and direct investigations into loss facts and extent of damages.
- Evaluate information to determine insured exposure; set reserves within authority or recommend reserve changes to a manager.
- Negotiate and settle claims (typically in litigation) within authority; represent at mediations, trials, and conferences.
- Serve as a technical referral point by advising underwriting on coverage and assisting with drafting policy wording; support training and best-practice procedures.
Requirements
- US Work Authorization required; does not provide visa sponsorship for this position.
- Minimum 5 years of claims handling experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Successful completion of 3 years as a Claims Examiner.
- Must have or be eligible to receive a claims adjuster license.
- Knowledge of tort and contract law.
- Excellent written and oral communication, strong analytical/problem-solving skills, and ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
