What you will do
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and monthly reporting across engineering teams and programs.
- Maintain engineering financial reporting, including OpEx tracking, headcount, and project-level spend.
- Develop and update financial forecasts for hiring plans, resource allocation, and initiative timelines.
- Build and maintain models for engineering capacity, productivity, and cost trends; track KPIs such as cost per engineer and spend per initiative.
- Support unit economics across engineering investments (e.g., cost per feature/product/initiative) and identify cost efficiency opportunities.
- Track actuals vs plan, highlight variances, evaluate build-vs-buy trade-offs, and report ROI/impact; support financial evaluation of tools, platforms, and vendor contracts.
Requirements
- 5β8 years of experience in FP&A, strategic finance, or infrastructure/cloud finance roles in a high-growth or top-tier technology company.
- Advanced financial modeling skills, including scenario analysis, sensitivity modeling, and long-range planning.
- Experience owning or materially contributing to forecasting and planning in a complex, usage-based or infrastructure-heavy environment.
- Strong understanding of cloud/compute/infrastructure cost drivers (utilization, capacity, unit cost dynamics).
- High proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets; experience using SQL and data tools such as Looker or Tableau.
- Ability to partner with engineering/technical teams and turn ambiguous datasets into clear, actionable recommendations.
