TL;DR

Senior Associate - Energy & Climate (Energy & Climate Consulting): Conduct economic and financial analysis for energy markets and support expert reports, testimony, and litigation materials with an accent on building market models, forecasting tools, and valuation frameworks. Focus on synthesizing complex qualitative and quantitative data into client-ready deliverables and staying current on energy policy and regulatory developments.

Location: Washington, DC (expectation to work several days a week from the office)

Salary: $85,000 – $145,000 per year

What you will do

  • Perform economic and financial analysis for energy markets, regulation, pricing, and competition.
  • Build and maintain market models, forecasting tools, and valuation frameworks.
  • Support development of expert reports, testimony, and arbitration/litigation materials.
  • Evaluate commercial contracts, pricing mechanisms, and damages claims.
  • Synthesize complex datasets into clear presentations, memos, and expert report sections for internal teams, clients, and legal counsel.
  • Collaborate with senior staff and experts to develop strategic insights and client deliverables.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience working with large datasets.
  • Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with statistical or programming tools such as Stata, R, or Python.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, including writing and presenting technical topics for non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with financial modeling and analysis using Microsoft Excel.
  • Interest in energy markets, regulation, and the economics of the energy transition.
