What you will do

• Support quarterly IFRS17 reporting activities, including data loading, valuation assumption changes, and earnings analysis.
• Assist in the preparation of the annual Appointed Actuary Report for the enterprise and its subsidiaries.
• Implement model and process improvements to enhance department reporting and analytical capabilities.
• Communicate key deliverables and findings to auditors, regulators, and external consultants.
• Maintain actuarial process documentation in compliance with professional standards and legislation.
• Collaborate with Product Actuarial, Finance, IT, and Strategy teams to support business objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, science, business, or economics.
• Currently writing Society of Actuaries (SOA) exams with the intention of achieving FSA and FCIA designations.
• Experience with analytical systems, including SQL, Microsoft Office (Excel, Access), and modeling systems like Moody’s AXIS.
• Strong time management skills and ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment.
• Knowledge of financial products (life insurance, annuities, segregated funds) and valuation regimes in Canada and the U.S.
• Excellent report writing and communication skills for presenting ideas across multiple disciplines.

Nice to have

• One year of actuarial experience in a life or health insurance company.
