What you will do
- Adjudicate assigned complex claims within given authority with minimal supervision.
- Draft complex technical coverage analyses and claim correspondence for the claims department.
- Lead litigation best practices and strategy, including attending and leading trials and mediations.
- Improve claim outcomes through investigation, negotiation, and alternative dispute resolution.
- Identify emerging exposures and claims trends; detect suspected fraudulent claims and coordinate with the special investigations unit.
- Accurately document claim files and review/analyze claim documentation and legal filings; mentor and train claims team members and underwriters as requested.
Requirements
- 10+ years of claims handling experience in General Liability & Bodily Injury.
- Expert knowledge of coverage within the team’s specialty or focus.
- Expert knowledge of litigation process and strong negotiation skills.
- Proven ability to positively affect highest severity claim outcomes through investigation and negotiation, including leading litigation.
- Proven track record of mentoring others.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; advanced analytical skills.
