TL;DR

IoT Technical Specialist (Embedded): Developing and integrating scalable IoT solutions for mission-critical systems with an accent on firmware development, connectivity protocols, and data management. Focus on designing robust architectures, ensuring system security, and mentoring engineering teams to deliver high-quality, reliable products.

Location: Must be based in Portalegre, Portugal (Hybrid role).

What you will do

  • Develop efficient code for embedded devices, firmware, and middleware using Python and Java.
  • Design and implement IoT networking solutions using protocols like MQTT, HTTP, and LoRaWAN.
  • Manage container-based middleware and integrate with platforms like IBM Maximo and ThingsBoard.
  • Process and structure sensor data using SQL and PostgreSQL to create actionable dashboards.
  • Lead technical problem-solving and communicate complex concepts to customers and stakeholders.
  • Coach and mentor engineers on designing secure, highly available, and scalable distributed software.

Requirements

  • Must be based in or able to work from Portalegre, Portugal.
  • Proven experience in IoT programming, hardware integration, and embedded systems.
  • Strong proficiency in Python or Java and database management (SQL/PostgreSQL).
  • Experience with IoT networking protocols and device communication.
  • Ability to lead technical projects and mentor team members.
  • Strong communication skills for client-facing technical consulting.

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
  • Experience with Google partner IoT solutions or IBM Maximo.
