What you will do

• Serve as a technical expert for embedded software design in physiologic monitoring systems.
• Influence architectural standards and design patterns for complex embedded platforms.
• Collaborate with systems, hardware, algorithm, and test engineering teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership for RTOS, device drivers, middleware, and application logic.
• Review designs, code, and test results to ensure safety, robustness, and maintainability.
• Mentor engineers through design and code reviews to promote best practices.

Requirements

• Deep expertise in embedded software architecture and development for safety-critical systems.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++ and embedded development tools.
• Extensive experience with RTOS, device drivers, and low-level hardware interfaces.
• Ability to define technical direction for complex embedded systems.
• Excellent communication skills for explaining technical tradeoffs to diverse stakeholders.
• Must be based in or able to work from Galway, Ireland.

Nice to have

• Experience with digital signal processing for physiologic signals.
• Familiarity with IEC 62304 medical device software lifecycle standards.
• Experience with machine learning inference architectures in embedded environments.
• Knowledge of hardware description languages and configurable hardware.
