TL;DR

Data Scientist (Applied AI/ML): Build predictive and optimization solutions, turn large-scale advertising and platform data into actionable insights, and design experiments that improve targeting, forecasting, ranking, recommendations, and decision-making workflows. Focus on scalable data science workflows and AI/LLM-powered innovation, solving ambiguous business problems with statistical modeling, machine learning, and experimentation.

Location: Hybrid (Tuesdays, Thursdays, and one additional day in the downtown Toronto office)

Salary: $120,000 - $140,000

What you will do

• Develop predictive and optimization algorithms for targeting, forecasting, ranking, recommendations, and decision-making workflows.
• Analyze large-scale datasets to translate ambiguous business questions into clear analytical approaches and practical recommendations.
• Build scalable data science workflows in collaboration with Engineering to support production-ready solutions.
• Design, analyze, and interpret experiments to measure impact and drive performance improvements across products and business outcomes.
• Support AI and LLM-powered solutions by evaluating emerging technologies and contributing practical AI capabilities.
• Partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Sales, Finance, and leadership to communicate findings and drive measurable impact.

Requirements

• Experience applying data science, machine learning, statistical modeling, experimentation, forecasting, recommendation systems, or optimization to solve business problems.
• Strong technical skills building and optimizing predictive models, recommendation systems, forecasting models, and optimization frameworks with measurable outcomes.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL, with comfort working directly with large datasets.
• Experience with distributed computing, cloud-based environments, or applied AI/LLM-powered solutions (asset).
• Ability to communicate complex data concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Comfort working through ambiguity and defining analytical paths forward when problems are not fully formed.
