What you will do

• Develop and evolve core card spending experiences and banking integrations within the Spend domain.
• Write production code and create technical design documents for complex, high-impact initiatives.
• Architect scalable and evolvable systems and data models that account for performance and failure isolation.
• Establish frontend architecture patterns, including state management, performance budgets, and E2E testing with Cypress.
• Engineer sophisticated backend solutions involving API versioning, caching strategies, and complex data migration.
• Mentor less experienced colleagues and drive technical alignment across multiple squads and engineering guilds.

Requirements

• Strong technical judgment and experience working with complex transactional systems.
• Must be based within commuting distance of London/European hubs.
• Ability to translate complex business goals into technical roadmaps and de-risk ambiguous projects.
• Experience defining engineering excellence, including CI/CD optimizations and coding standards.
• English: Professional proficiency required as it is the official company language.

Nice to have

• Experience with or strong interest in modern AI-augmented workflows and agentic coding.
• Prior expertise in payments or financial systems.
