What you will do

• Perform hands-on system-level testing of complex electromechanical and robotic laboratory instruments.
• Support new product development from concept and prototyping through to final release.
• Conduct issue investigation, root cause analysis, and regression testing for product sustaining activities.
• Develop, execute, and maintain structured test plans, methods, and documentation.
• Design and operate prototypes and test rigs to support development activities.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to identify risks and influence design decisions.

Requirements

• Experience working as a test engineer in an R&D or product development environment.
• Strong capability in system-level testing, including end-to-end workflows and subsystem interactions.
• Experience testing complex automated, robotic, or electromechanical systems.
• Practical, hands-on approach with strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Degree or equivalent qualification in engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Ability to produce clear, concise technical documentation.

Nice to have

• Experience in life sciences, laboratory automation, or scientific instrumentation.
• Familiarity with IEC 61010 safety requirements and ISO 9001 quality management principles.
• Awareness of machinery safety legislation and the Machinery Directive.
• Experience improving formalised test practices within an R&D environment.
