TL;DR

SAP ABAP Developer (Insurance): Design, develop, and support SAP applications with an accent on RICEF development, ABAP Objects, and SAP Forms. Focus on translating insurance business requirements into technical solutions, building and maintaining integrations (IDocs, BAPIs, RFCs, web services), and ensuring performance through code reviews, debugging, and production support.

Location: México City or Guadalajara (hybrid)

What you will do

  • Design, develop, and enhance SAP ABAP programs including Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, and Forms (RICEF).
  • Develop and maintain ABAP Objects, ALV Reports, Smart Forms, SAP Scripts, and Adobe Forms.
  • Collaborate with functional consultants to translate insurance requirements into technical solutions.
  • Support and enhance insurance-relevant SAP modules (e.g., FS-CD, FS-PM, FI, SD, or custom insurance solutions).
  • Develop and support integrations using IDocs, BAPIs, RFCs, and web services.
  • Perform code reviews, debugging, performance tuning, and production support for ABAP developments.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of SAP ABAP development experience.
  • Strong expertise in ABAP/4 and ABAP Objects.
  • Experience with enhancements (User Exits, BADIs, Enhancement Framework) and DDIC.
  • Experience with SAP Forms (Smart Forms and Adobe Forms).
  • Insurance domain experience (Life, P&C, Health, or Reinsurance) and knowledge of policy lifecycle, premium processing, claims management, and billing/collections.
  • Experience with interfaces and integrations (IDoc, BAPI, RFC, Web Services).

Nice to have

  • Experience with SAP FSCM or Financial Services modules.
  • Exposure to SAP Workflow and OData services.
  • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies.
  • SAP ABAP or S/4HANA certification.
  • Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA and ABAP for HANA (AMDP, CDS views).
