What you will do

• Take end-to-end ownership of specific fraud problem areas from discovery and definition through to delivery and monitoring.
• Build AI-native tools using SQL and Python to analyze rule-based and machine learning controls to improve recall and reduce false positives.
• Contribute to mission-critical backend services utilizing Python/FastAPI and Kotlin/Spring.
• Develop and deliver customer-facing fraud features on the frontend using React and TypeScript.
• Own the accuracy and integrity of data flowing through fraud detection systems, resolving quality issues directly.
• Prototype new detection rules and signals to address emerging threats like APP fraud and synthetic identities.

Requirements

• Strong analytical mindset with a genuine interest in fraud, risk, and financial crime.
• Proficiency in analyzing large datasets with SQL and Python to discover complex patterns.
• Familiarity with building microservices using Python/FastAPI, Kotlin/Spring, or similar frameworks.
• Understanding of supervised machine learning concepts, including tree-based learning and explainability.
• Must be based in or able to work from the London office on a hybrid basis.
• Ability to translate technical findings and proposals to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with frontend development using React and TypeScript.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure preferred) and CI/CD practices.
• Experience with third-party fraud or decisioning platforms.
• Demonstrable experience with rule tuning, feature engineering, or model performance optimization.
