TL;DR

Commercial Counsel, Platform & Marketplace (AI): Scaling go-to-market motions and platforms like the Claude Marketplace with an accent on partnership frameworks and complex multi-party negotiations. Focus on architecting scalable contracting vehicles, managing revenue-sharing arrangements, and balancing legal risk with growth objectives.

Location: Hybrid; must be based in or be able to work from San Francisco, Seattle, New York City, or Washington, D.C. (at least 3 days a week in office)

Salary: $265,000 - $320,000 USD

What you will do

  • Own end-to-end legal strategy and execution for partnership ecosystems and contracting programs.
  • Act as a strategic legal advisor for the Partnerships & Alliances business team.
  • Lead complex negotiations regarding technical integrations, revenue-sharing, and joint go-to-market strategies.
  • Architect scalable partnership frameworks and templates to enable efficient deal execution.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with Finance, GTM, and Compute teams on commercial relationships.

Requirements

  • JD and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar.
  • Proven track record of leading complex, multi-stakeholder negotiations with major technology companies.
  • Deep understanding of partnership economics and incentive structures.
  • Outstanding communication skills and executive presence for negotiating with General Counsels.
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments and build new legal playbooks.

Nice to have

  • 8+ years of legal experience, with 4+ years focused on technology partnerships and strategic alliances.
  • Experience as commercial counsel at high-growth technology companies.
  • Background managing relationships with major hyperscalers and systems integrators.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML, cloud infrastructure, or developer platform partnerships.
