What you will do

• Own product design for complex financial workflows from early exploration through to final implementation.
• Partner with engineers and PMs to turn ambiguous product problems into buildable interaction models.
• Create prototypes, interaction specs, and implementation notes using tools like Figma and Claude Code.
• Define reusable patterns for high-density surfaces such as tables, object inspectors, and AI-enabled interactions.
• Collaborate with the design-system lead on component adoption and prototype-to-production details.
• Refine product behavior, edge cases, and polish during the engineering build phase.

Requirements

• 5+ years of product design experience, ideally within a startup or high-ownership environment.
• Must be based in New York for on-site work.
• Experience designing complex, technical, and data-heavy product surfaces.
• Ability to reason through edge cases, information density, and product hierarchy.
• Strong visual, interaction, and product craft with high agency and low ego.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to explain design rationales.

Nice to have

• Experience designing for fintech, accounting, AI, or enterprise workflow products.
• Ability to build lightweight prototypes in React / TypeScript or modify front-end code.
• Experience working with design systems as living code/product systems.
• Background in early-stage companies with high ownership and low process.
