AWS Center for Quantum Computing is a multi-disciplinary team at Web Services working at the forefront of developing fault-tolerant quantum computers.
What you will do
- Develop high-quality software tools and numerical methods for simulating devices at the circuit-QED level.
- Compute static and dynamical properties of devices, including frequencies, coupling strengths, and gate error budgets.
- Collaborate with device theorists, designers, and experimentalists to solve simulation-based problems in processor design.
- Research and develop new algorithms and methods to improve simulation workflows.
- Implement and test high-quality software implementations for target applications.
Requirements
- PhD or Master's degree with 5+ years of experience in science, technology, engineering, or a related field.
- Track record of significant technical contributions via patents or publications in top-tier peer-reviewed journals.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
- Experience implementing algorithms and modeling quantum devices using circuit Quantum Electrodynamics.
- Expertise in numerical simulation of quantum many-body systems or applying ML to science/engineering problems.
- Must meet U.S. export control requirements (U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or eligible for an export license).
Nice to have
- Experience in professional software development and applying theoretical models in applied environments.
- Fluency in Julia or Rust.
- Experience with QuTiP, QuantumOptics.jl, scQubits, or SQcircuit.
- Experience using JAX, PyTorch, or GPU acceleration for self-developed linear algebra code.
- Knowledge of superconducting circuits, tensor networks, Hamiltonian inference, or surrogate modeling.
