What you will do

• Act as the technical authority for one or more engineering teams, driving cross-team architectural plans.
• Design and build high-performance, fault-tolerant backend services using Java and cloud-native microservices.
• Architect petabyte-scale data pipelines and integration workflows that leverage AI and Agentic patterns.
• Create design specifications and negotiate interfaces for complex, multi-team projects.
• Define SLIs/SLOs and ensure operational excellence, including observability and fault tolerance.
• Mentor engineers and provide constructive feedback through design reviews and code mentorship.

Requirements

• 15+ years of full-time software development experience in product or enterprise environments.
• Expert-level proficiency in Java, including concurrency and performance tuning.
• Extensive experience with Spring Boot/Spring Cloud and microservices architecture.
• Strong background in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and container orchestration with Kubernetes.
• Proven expertise in designing distributed systems and message-driven architectures (e.g., Kafka).
• Deep knowledge of RDBMS, SQL, and NoSQL databases like Cassandra or MongoDB.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present technical initiatives to VP-level stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with distributed processing frameworks like Apache Spark or Flink.
• Knowledge of open table formats such as Iceberg or Delta Lake.
• Experience with ETL/ELT platforms and metadata management.
• Familiarity with the hirify.global or multi-tenant SaaS ecosystem.
