Location: Hybrid (SF or NYC); Must be based in or be able to relocate to San Francisco or New York, with a requirement to be in the office at least 3x per week

Salary: $216,750 – $255,000 + Equity

What you will do

• Design and develop a robust, scalable, and expressive design system from the ground up that unifies design and code.
• Explore and build AI-powered tools that leverage LLMs to accelerate prototyping, iteration, and exploration.
• Create workflows and abstractions that allow designers to move seamlessly from concept to production code.
• Establish high standards for quality across interaction, motion, performance, and accessibility.
• Collaborate with designers, engineers, and product leaders to transform ambiguous ideas into precise product realities.

Requirements

• 5–10+ years of experience in design engineering, design systems, creative technology, or frontend engineering.
• Fluency in modern web technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, and React.
• Strong product and design sensibility with deep care for interaction and visual polish.
• Proven ability to prototype ideas quickly in both code and design tools.
• Builder mindset with the ability to navigate ambiguity and deliver without perfect specifications.
• Commitment to a hybrid work model in SF or NYC (minimum 3 days per week in office).

Nice to have

• Experience building internal tools or platforms that empower other designers or engineers.
• Practical experience with AI/ML products or generative user interfaces.
• Professional background in motion design or brand design systems.
