What you will do

  • Synthesize materials including zeolites, MOFs, coolants, quantum dots, and lipid nanoparticles.
  • Prepare reagents, electrolytes, and samples to ensure seamless experiment continuation across shifts.
  • Follow detailed standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure accuracy, reproducibility, and throughput.
  • Monitor workflow performance and troubleshoot common issues with synthesis tools like centrifuges and annealers.
  • Record and organize experimental data with high attention to detail.
  • Collaborate with scientists and engineers to support diverse projects across life and physical sciences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Physics, Chemical/Materials Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1 year of industrial experience in wet lab environments performing pipetting, chemical handling, and high-temperature annealing.
  • Hands-on experience synthesizing zeolites, MOFs, and powder materials.
  • Experience working with acids and bases in fume hoods and handling powders.
  • Must be based in or able to work onsite in Cambridge, MA.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with coolants, quantum dots, nanoparticles, and thin films.
  • Experience in high-throughput production environments with a focus on scalability and efficiency.
  • Basic engineering skills for troubleshooting chemical handler robots and glove boxes.
  • Ability to operate automated workflows and generate custom scripts.
  • Experience with characterization methods for analyzing morphology and chemical compositions.
