Lead Gameplay Engineer (NPC Behavior): Building and leading a team responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing NPC community and behavior systems for a new IP with an accent on technical architecture and cross-disciplinary collaboration. Focus on solving complex AI challenges, defining technical standards for large-scale systems, and establishing the foundation for a brand-new game universe.

Location: Onsite in Warsaw, Poland (Relocation support provided)

Salary: 39,800 – 54,670 PLN gross monthly

What you will do

• Build and lead a specialized team focused on NPC community and behavior technology.
• Collaborate with designers, writers, and animators to define and implement complex gameplay features.
• Partner with production and QA teams to establish technical scope, priorities, and project timelines.
• Debug, profile, and optimize large-scale systems to ensure peak game performance.
• Conduct code reviews and define technical standards to maintain clean, modular, and scalable code.
• Drive R&D initiatives and rapid prototyping of innovative game technologies.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in developing NPC behavior systems in AA/AAA projects.
• Proven track record of leading a development team in a professional environment.
• Expertise in C++ coding principles and practices.
• Experience in successfully shipping at least one commercial game.
• English: C1+ (written and spoken) is required.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.

Nice to have

• Professional experience with Unreal Engine 4 or 5.
• Experience in risk management and professional team development.
