Staff Backend Engineer

TL;DR

Staff Backend Engineer: Building and supporting a particular part of hirify.global in a squad alongside product managers, marketers, user researchers, designers, mobile engineers, web engineers, data analysts, business analysts, and writers. Focus on distributed systems and writing resilient software to test hypotheses and make a difference to customers.

Location: Barcelona, Spain. Hybrid model: 3 days a week in the office

Salary: Base salary for this role is depending on experience + stock options

hirify.global is building an in-house banking platform with over 400 engineers who collaborate across disciplines to solve interesting challenges throughout the company.

What you will do

• Collaborate with product managers, marketers, user researchers, designers, mobile engineers, web engineers, data analysts, business analysts, and writers to build and support a part of hirify.global.
• Work in product squads belonging to collectives such as Money, Borrowing, Fincrime, Customer Operations, Platform, Personal Banking & Business Banking.
• Use tools and technologies like Go, MySQL, gRPC, and AWS to write application code and manage infrastructure.
• Participate in testing hypotheses and making data-informed decisions to improve customer outcomes.
• Work in a team that deals with ambiguity and is interested in distributed systems and writing resilient software.

Requirements

• Strong experience working on the backend of a technology product.
• Product mindset: care about customer outcomes and want to make data-informed decisions.
• Comfortable working in a team that deals with ambiguity.
• Interested in distributed systems and writing resilient software.
• Some experience with strongly-typed languages (Go, Java, C, Scala etc.).
